Yankees Punch First, Looking to Stay Hot
The Yankees are rolling. They won five straight coming into this series, and yesterday they smashed the Athletics 8-2 at Sutter Health Park. Aaron Judge launched hits right from the start. Ben Rice ripped a single and later crushed a home run deep to center field. Paul Goldschmidt blasted a two-run shot over left-center. The Yankees' bats came alive early and never stopped swinging. Now they're 35-22 on the season. Oakland needs to find an answer fast or this series gets out of hand quick.
Oakland's Rotation Battles Injuries at Home
The Athletics are hurting right now. They're 27-30 and dropping fast with four losses in a row. Their pitching staff is banged up. Luis Severino left Friday's game early with arm soreness. Aaron Civale landed on the injured list with shoulder problems. J.T. Ginn gets the ball today to keep Oakland afloat. Up the middle, Nick Kurtz and Shea Langeliers need to deliver offense. Langeliers is swinging it well with a .350 average. The A's have to find a way to score runs and stay tight in games.
Who Lights Up First at Sutter Health Park?
You're watching two teams heading in totally different directions. New York wants to keep rolling with that five-game win streak alive. They've got Aaron Judge and Ben Rice swinging bats like they're out of control. Ryan Weathers takes the mound for the Yankees as their starter. Oakland's bats are cold right now, and they need to bounce back fast. Shea Langeliers is their brightest spot in the lineup. The Athletics can't afford to fall further behind in this series. First pitch could set the tone for the whole game.
