Dodgers Dominate Houston with Powerful Hitting Display
The Los Angeles Dodgers traveled to Houston and completely took over the game against the Astros on May 6. Los Angeles brought one of baseball's most talented pitching staffs, led by ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who combines incredible regular-season performance with championship experience. Although Tyler Glasnow was dealing with spasms and couldn't pitch, the Dodgers still had plenty of firepower ready. Houston's pitching staff faced a new challenge after ace Framber Valdez left in free agency, with Hunter Brown now anchoring their rotation. The Dodgers' powerful lineup was hungry to score runs against the struggling Astros pitchers. When the game ended, Los Angeles crushed Houston 12-2 in a dominant performance. This victory showed just how deep and talented the Dodgers' roster truly is, even without some key players on the injured list.
Pages Hits Three Home Runs to Power the Offense
The Houston Astros struck first when Matthews homered to left field in the first inning, sending the ball 366 feet with an exit velocity of 105 miles per hour. However, Los Angeles answered back quickly in the second inning when a wild pitch by McCullers Jr. allowed Tucker to score. The Dodgers' offense then exploded in the third inning, taking control of the game. Pages delivered a massive three-run home run to left field, traveling 393 feet and bringing Freeman and Tucker across home plate. Meanwhile, Ohtani and Freeland also scored on wild pitches, extending Los Angeles' lead significantly. The Astros' pitching struggled with control throughout the game. Pages would go on to hit two more home runs later in the game, showcasing his incredible power and consistency at the plate.
Late-Inning Offense Seals a Commanding Victory
In the fourth inning, Freeman doubled to left, allowing Ohtani to score and extend the Dodgers' advantage even further. Pages hit his second home run in the fifth inning, this time with Muncy on base, launching the ball 370 feet and giving Los Angeles a 9-1 lead. Ohtani then singled to left field, driving in another run to make it 10-1. The Dodgers kept rolling in the seventh inning when Freeland singled to right, scoring Kim and pushing the lead to 11-1. Houston managed only one more run when Cole singled in the seventh, but it was nowhere near enough to threaten the Dodgers. Pages capped off his exceptional night with another home run in the ninth inning, his third of the game. The Dodgers' balanced attack, combining home runs with timely hits, proved unstoppable against Houston's transition pitching staff.
