Game overview and setting
The Miami Marlins visited the Atlanta Braves on Monday, April 13, at the Braves' home park. Both teams wanted a win to build momentum early in the season. The final score was Miami Marlins 10, Atlanta Braves 4, and the game turned into a big offensive night for Miami. Early innings were quiet, but the game flipped in the fourth inning when the Marlins exploded. You could see the Marlins' hitters get aggressive and the Braves try to answer. This game showed how one big inning can change everything, and it left both teams with something to work on.
Early scoring and turning point
During the fourth inning the Marlins scored three runs to take a lead. Hicks hit a sacrifice fly and pushed Marsee home for the first run. Lopez then singled to left and brought Edwards home, and Norby added another single to score Ramírez. The Braves fought back in the bottom of the fourth and tied it at 3 with a string of singles and a sacrifice fly. However, in the fifth inning Miami hit a three-run homer by Ramírez that changed the game. That powerful swing made it 6–3 and gave Miami the cushion they needed to control the rest of the game.
Late innings and final impact
In the sixth inning Miami kept scoring and pulled away even more. Norby hit a solo home run to make it 7–4 and then Ramirez reached on an infield single that scored Hernández. Later in that inning Hicks reached on an infield single and another run scored, pushing the lead to 9–4. In the eighth, Hicks added another RBI single to make it 10–4. The Marlins finished with 16 hits and no errors, while the Braves had nine hits. This win improved Miami's record to 8–8 and left Atlanta at 10–6, so the game mattered for both clubs.
