However, Milwaukee answered immediately in the top of the fourth with explosive offense. Mitchell reached on an infield single, and SĂĄnchez scored to tie the game. Then Jones grounded into a fielder's choice that brought Bauers home, putting Milwaukee ahead 2-0. But the Brewers weren't finished. Rengifo scored on a throwing error by the Marlins' catcher RamĂrez, extending Milwaukee's lead to 3-0. In the sixth inning, Rengifo doubled to center field, scoring Bauers and making it 4-0. Miami Rallies Back: Dramatic Tenth Inning Decides Everything
Miami refused to quit despite trailing 4-0 after six innings. In the sixth, Lopez launched a two-run homer to center field, traveling 401 feet and cutting the deficit to 4-3. The Marlins felt momentum building. Then in the eighth inning, RamĂrez doubled to left field, scoring Edwards and tying the game at 4-4. Suddenly the Brewers' lead had vanished. Both teams battled intensely through nine scoreless innings, forcing extra baseball. In the tenth, Milwaukee broke through decisively. Rengifo's fielder's choice scored Turang on an error, then Mitchell smashed a double to left that drove in two more runs, giving Milwaukee a 7-4 lead.
