The biggest turning point came in the fourth inning when García Jr. singled with two outs and Nuñez scored, stretching Washington’s lead to 5–1. Pittsburgh fought back that inning as Ozuna doubled and Lowe scored, then Gonzales grounded out and Reynolds scored to make it 5–3. In the fifth Bart homered to pull Pittsburgh within one run at 5–4. After that neither team scored in the late innings, and Washington held on. The game ended 5–4 for Washington, improving their record to 7–9 and leaving Pittsburgh at 10–6. It was a tense finish that showed both teams’ resilience.
