Week 15 NBA Power Rankings: #30-16
The NBA season is flying by, and teams all across the league are fighting through injuries, rebuilding years, and surprise winning streaks. Some squads are learning hard lessons, while others are starting to turn the corner. Here’s a look at teams ranked 30 through 16, breaking down where they stand, who’s stepping up, and what to watch next.
30. New Orleans Pelicans (12-36)
The Pelicans sit at the bottom but just won two straight games! They beat San Antonio 104-95 even without Dejounte Murray, Brandon Ingram, and CJ McCollum. Zion Williamson took over while Trey Murphy III caught fire on offense. Herb Jones played amazing defense and slowed down Victor Wembanyama. The Pelicans are #15 in the Western Conference.
29. Washington Wizards (10-34)
Washington lost a heartbreaker to Charlotte 119-115 in their latest game. They're waiting for Trae Young who will help by running the offense and making young players like Alex Sarr and Tre Johnson better. The team plays hard but struggles to win close games. They're #15 in the Eastern Conference and learning how to finish.
28. Indiana Pacers (11-35)
The Pacers pulled off a shocking upset! They beat mighty Oklahoma City 117-114 despite missing Tyrese Haliburton for the season. Jarace Walker and Pascal Siakam came through for the win. The young players showed they can compete when focused. Indiana is #14 in the Eastern Conference and focused on getting better.
27. Sacramento Kings (12-35)
Sacramento is struggling badly right now at #14 in the Western Conference. They got destroyed by Detroit 139-116 in a terrible loss. Without De'Aaron Fox, the Kings can't find their rhythm. Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine are trying hard but the team needs help.
26. Brooklyn Nets (12-32)
The Nets got crushed at home by the Clippers 89-126. Brooklyn is clearly rebuilding and giving their young rookies lots of playing time. Michael Porter Jr. and Nic Claxton provide veteran leadership. The Nets are #13 in the Eastern Conference and looking toward the future.
25. Utah Jazz (15-31)
Utah got blown out by Miami 147-116 in a rough defensive showing. Lauri Markkanen leads the team while rookie Ace Bailey shows amazing scoring skills. Keyonte George, Walker Kessler, and Kyle Filipowski keep developing their games. The Jazz are #13 in the Western Conference and building for tomorrow.
24. Charlotte Hornets (18-28)
The Hornets are heating up with 3 straight wins! They beat the 76ers and Washington after crushing Orlando earlier. LaMelo Ball creates plays while Brandon Miller and rookie Kon Knueppel knock down shots. Charlotte is #12 in the Eastern Conference and learning to win tight games.
23. Dallas Mavericks (19-27)
Dallas lost to the Lakers 116-110, ending a 4-game win streak Rookie Cooper Flagg is learning and growing as their future star. Klay Thompson and D'Angelo Russell help steady the ship. The Mavericks are #12 in the Western Conference but struggling without their injured stars.
22. Milwaukee Bucks (18-26)
Milwaukee keeps losing heartbreakers in the final seconds! They fell to Denver 102-100 in their latest nail-biter. Without Damian Lillard, and now Giannis Antetokounmpo, the the team is spiraling fast. The Bucks are #11 in the Eastern Conference and can't figure out how to win.
21. Memphis Grizzlies (18-25)
The Grizzlies lost to New Orleans 133-127 as their defense fell apart. Without traded star Desmond Bane, Memphis lacks scoring behind Ja Morant. Young players Jaylen Wells and Cedric Coward show promise but need time. Memphis is #11 in the Western Conference and searching for answers.
20. LA Clippers (21-24)
The Clippers are rolling now after destroying Brooklyn 126-89! They won three straight and are climbing back into playoff position. James Harden runs the offense while Ivica Zubac controls the paint. The Clippers are #10 in the Western Conference and building real momentum.
19. Atlanta Hawks (22-25)
Atlanta beat Phoenix 110-103 behind Jalen Johnson's monster 18-rebound game. Playing without Trae Young, the Hawks focus on defense now. Dyson Daniels guards tough, Kristaps Porzingis protects the rim, and Johnson dominates both ends. The Hawks are #10 in the Eastern Conference with a new winning style.
18. Portland Trail Blazers (23-23)
Portland lost to Toronto 110-98 in a defensive struggle. Donovan Clingan grabbed 16 rebounds and controlled the glass. Deni Avdija, Shaedon Sharpe, and Toumani Camara are still learning to play together. The Blazers are #9 in the Western Conference with promise but need better offense.
17. Chicago Bulls (23-22)
Chicago shocked Boston with a huge 114-111 victory! Josh Giddey sets up teammates perfectly while rookie Matas Buzelis keeps improving. Nikola Vucevic stays solid and Coby White scores in bunches. The Bulls are #9 in the Eastern Conference and proving doubters wrong.
16. Orlando Magic (23-21)
Orlando is struggling after trading four picks for Desmond Bane. They lost to both Charlotte and Chicago in disappointing fashion. Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner need to step up with their new teammate. The Magic are #8 in the Eastern Conference but pressure is mounting fast.
