The Cleveland Cavaliers refused to quit Monday night in Denver. Down five points entering the fourth quarter, they stormed back to steal a 119-117 victory from the Nuggets.
Mitchell Takes Over
Donovan Mitchell was unstoppable. The Cavaliers guard sliced through Denver's defense like a hot knife through butter. He finished with 32 points and 10 assists. Mitchell attacked the rim with speed and power. His sneakers squeaked on the hardwood as he changed direction. He dished perfect passes to teammates cutting to the basket. Mitchell scored or created baskets when Cleveland needed them most.
The Big Men Battle
Jarrett Allen dominated inside with 22 points and 13 rebounds. He caught passes near the rim and dunked with authority. The backboard shook with each powerful finish. Allen's long arms stretched high to grab rebounds over Denver defenders.
James Harden added 22 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists for Cleveland. The veteran guard controlled the pace like a conductor leading an orchestra. His three blocks showed he played hard on both ends.
Jokic's Triple-Double Not Enough
Nikola Jokic recorded another amazing performance with 22 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists. The three-time MVP passed with wizard-like vision. He spotted open teammates across the court and fired perfect passes. Jokic also scored with soft touch shots around the basket.
Julian Strawther and Christian Braun each scored 20 points for Denver. Jamal Murray added 17 points and 11 assists. But it wasn't enough.
Denver led after every quarter until the final buzzer. The Nuggets were up 30-26, 59-54, and 92-87. Then Cleveland exploded in the fourth quarter.
Playoff Preparation
Both teams are fighting for playoff position. Cleveland improved to 33-21 while Denver fell to 34-20. The Cavaliers showed championship toughness by winning on the road. They erased a deficit against a quality opponent.
This game showed why February basketball matters. Every possession counts as teams prepare for the playoffs ahead.
