Bucks Dominate Thunder Without Their Stars
The Milwaukee Bucks rolled into Oklahoma City and shocked the defending champions. Final score: 110-93. The Bucks won their second straight game without superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, who sat out with a right calf strain.
New Heroes Step Up
Ousmane Dieng became Milwaukee's hero on Thursday night. The young forward stuffed the stat sheet with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Picture a defender rising up at the rim, swatting away shot after shot. That was Dieng all night long. He played 36 minutes and dominated both ends of the floor.
A.J. Green caught fire from the outside, drilling shots and finishing with 17 points. Bobby Portis grabbed 12 rebounds and added 15 points. He also swiped four steals, poking balls away from Thunder players like a cat batting at string. Kyle Kuzma chipped in 14 points, while Kevin Porter Jr. dished out seven assists to keep the offense flowing.
Thunder Missing Their Best
Oklahoma City played without their MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He's dealing with an injury and will miss at least five games. Jalen Williams and Isaiah Hartenstein also sat out for the defending champs.
Chet Holmgren tried to carry the load. The seven-foot tower grabbed 13 rebounds and scored 16 points. Isaiah Joe added 17 points, but it wasn't enough. The Thunder couldn't find their usual rhythm without their stars.
Building the Lead
Milwaukee jumped ahead early and never looked back. They led 30-25 after the first quarter. By halftime, the Bucks had stretched it to 67-55. They kept pouring it on in the third quarter, taking a 89-73 advantage into the final frame.
Looking Ahead
The Bucks improved to 23-30 on the season. They're finding ways to win even without Giannis on the court. Milwaukee heads into the All-Star break with momentum and hope for better days ahead.
