The New York Knicks rolled into Boston and stopped the Celtics' hot streak cold. New York crushed Boston 111-89 on Sunday night. It was a complete team effort from start to finish.
Brunson Takes Over
Jalen Brunson looked like a superhero out there. He scored 31 points and dished out 8 assists. Brunson hit shots from everywhere on the court. He made 57 percent of his field goals. When he drives to the basket, defenders freeze. They don't know if he'll shoot or pass. That keeps Boston guessing all game long.
Balanced Attack
Josh Hart added 19 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He attacked the basket with power and confidence. Mikal Bridges chipped in 14 points while playing tough defense. Jose Alvarado scored 12 points off the bench and added 2 steals. Karl-Anthony Towns grabbed 10 rebounds to control the paint. He scored 11 points too. Towns' big body made it hard for Boston to get second chances.
Fast Start Wins Games
The Knicks jumped ahead early. They led 35-24 after the first quarter. Boston never caught up. New York kept pushing in the second half. They led by 17 points entering the fourth quarter. The Celtics couldn't find any rhythm on offense.
Boston Struggles
Jaylen Brown led Boston with 26 points. But he needed 25 shots to get there. Derrick White added 19 points. Baylor Scheierman pulled down 13 rebounds and scored 10 points. The Celtics played without star Jayson Tatum, who remains out with an Achilles injury. Boston's five-game winning streak came to an end.
Looking Ahead
The Knicks now sit at 35-19. They're the second-best team in the Eastern Conference. New York plays great defense and shares the ball. Eight wins in a row proves this team is ready for big moments. Watch out for these Knicks!
