Sunday Afternoon & Monday Night Football Preview- Week 2
Week 2 doesn’t slow down after the early games. The afternoon and primetime matchups bring some of the biggest storylines in football, from young quarterbacks trying to prove themselves to heavyweights battling on the national stage.
Broncos at Colts (4:05 PM)
The Broncos opened with a strong defensive win over the Titans, sacking rookie quarterback Cam Ward six times. The Colts shocked everyone with a big 33-8 victory over the Dolphins, led by Daniel Jones and a powerful run game. This matchup will test if Denver’s defense can slow down a Colts offense that suddenly looks dangerous.
Panthers at Cardinals (4:05 PM)
The Panthers struggled in their opener and will need Bryce Young to bounce back. The Cardinals, on the other hand, looked sharp with Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison Jr. leading the way in a win over the Saints. Arizona’s defense could give them the edge at home if they force turnovers.
Eagles at Chiefs (4:25 PM)
This is the game of the week. The Eagles edged the Cowboys in Week 1 and still look like Super Bowl contenders. The Chiefs are looking to recover from a tough loss to the Chargers. Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes are two of the league’s best quarterbacks, and this battle could come down to who makes the last big play.
Falcons at Vikings (8:20 PM, Sunday Night Football)
The Falcons came close but fell to the Buccaneers in Week 1. Michael Penix Jr. showed off his arm strength and Bijan Robinson looked explosive. The Vikings earned a close win behind rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy in his first career start. Minnesota’s home crowd will be loud as both young quarterbacks try to make a statement.
Buccaneers at Texans (7:00 PM, Monday Night Football)
Baker Mayfield and rookie receiver Emeka Egbuka made big plays to help Tampa Bay beat Atlanta. The Texans lost a defensive battle against the Rams and struggled to protect C.J. Stroud. Houston’s young offense needs to find its rhythm, while Tampa Bay will try to stay unbeaten with its high-powered passing attack.
Chargers at Raiders (10:00 PM, Monday Night Football)
The Chargers beat the Chiefs thanks to Justin Herbert’s sharp passing and rookie Omarion Hampton’s tough running. The Raiders got a road win behind Geno Smith and rookie running back Ashton Jeanty. Both teams are 1-0 and hoping to prove they can challenge in the AFC West. Expect lots of points in this rivalry game.
