Tom Brady Is Back… in Flag Football!
Tom Brady, arguably the greatest quarterback in NFL history, is making a return to the field... but not in the way you might think. Brady, who retired from the NFL in 2023, will play in a special flag football tournament in 2026. The event, called the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will feature some of the biggest names in football.
A New Kind of Game
This won’t be the full-contact football Brady played for over 20 years. Instead, it’s flag football, a faster and safer version of the game where players pull flags instead of tackling. The games will be played 5-on-5 on a shorter, 50-yard field, with two 20-minute halves. Brady will join other stars like Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, Tyreek Hill, Odell Beckham Jr., and even his old teammate Rob Gronkowski. The teams will be coached by famous NFL coaches Pete Carroll, Sean Payton, and Kyle Shanahan.
Spreading American Football Around the World
The NFL hopes this event will help grow flag football around the world. Flag football will even be part of the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, so Brady’s appearance adds excitement and attention. Having the most famous quarterback of all time play in this event will likely make more people interested in the sport.
Brady’s Other Roles
Even though he retired, Brady has stayed very busy. He signed a 10-year deal with Fox Sports to be a broadcaster, so fans can hear his analysis during games. He also owns a small share of the Las Vegas Raiders, which has created some controversy.
A Living Legend
On top of all this, Brady continues to be honored for his amazing career and 7 Super Bowl rings. In August 2025, the New England Patriots unveiled a statue of him outside their stadium, and his famous number 12 jersey was officially retired. Fans now have a permanent reminder of the quarterback who won seven Super Bowls and changed the game forever.
Conclusion
Tom Brady may not be coming back to the NFL, but his return in flag football shows that his love for the game hasn’t ended. Whether he’s a player, a broadcaster, or an owner, Brady continues to make headlines and inspire fans all over the world.
