Week 12 NFL Power Rankings: Top 16
The top half of the league delivered big moments in Week 12. There were huge wins, tough losses, and standout performances from star players. From playoff hopefuls to true title contenders, here’s how teams 16 through 1 stack up after another action-packed weekend.
16. Baltimore Ravens (5–5)
The Ravens beat the Browns 23–16 thanks to Derrick Henry’s power and a creative touchdown run by Mark Andrews on a direct snap. Lamar Jackson made a few mistakes early but rebounded with big throws to Zay Flowers. Baltimore’s defense tightened in the second half and helped the Ravens climb back to .500.
15. Kansas City Chiefs (5–5)
The Chiefs fell 22–19 to Denver in a tough, back-and-forth game. Patrick Mahomes made big plays to Travis Kelce, but a costly interception turned the momentum. Kansas City’s defense played hard, but late field goals by Denver made the difference. At 5–5, the Chiefs suddenly look vulnerable.
14. Pittsburgh Steelers (6–4)
Pittsburgh crushed the Bengals 34–12 behind Kenneth Gainwell’s huge performance. He scored twice through the air and once on the ground, giving the offense its best rhythm of the year. The defense forced multiple turnovers, including a pick-six, helping the Steelers bounce back in a big way.
13. Los Angeles Chargers (7–4)
The Chargers were shocked 35–6 by Jacksonville. Justin Herbert was held to just 81 passing yards, and nothing on offense ever clicked. Missed tackles and blown gaps hurt the defense as the Jaguars ran wild. It was one of the Chargers’ roughest showings of the season.
12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6–4)
Tampa Bay lost 44–32 to the Bills despite a breakout game from Sean Tucker, who scored three touchdowns. Baker Mayfield made plays, but the defense gave up too many long drives to Josh Allen. The Bucs stay in the playoff mix but showed major issues on both sides of the ball.
11. Chicago Bears (7–3)
The Bears beat the Vikings 19–17 thanks to strong defense and a late field goal. Caleb Williams made smart plays with his legs and hit Rome Odunze for key gains, while the run game carried the offense. Chicago keeps finding ways to win close battles.
10. Detroit Lions (6–4)
Detroit fell 16–9 to the Eagles in a tough defensive matchup. Jahmyr Gibbs showed his explosiveness with a long catch-and-run, and Jameson Williams scored on a deep shot. Overall the Lions struggled to finish drives. Even with this loss, they remain firmly in the NFC playoff race.
9. Green Bay Packers (6–3–1)
The Packers beat the Giants 27–20 with a clutch fourth-quarter comeback led by Jordan Love. Christian Watson made big plays, and Emanuel Wilson scored on the ground. A late interception sealed the win, and Green Bay continues to show strong resilience in close games.
8. San Francisco 49ers (7–4)
The 49ers dominated Arizona 41–22 behind Christian McCaffrey’s three touchdowns and George Kittle’s big night. Brock Purdy returned to form with sharp throws all game long. When their stars are healthy, San Francisco looks like one of the most dangerous teams in the league.
7. Seattle Seahawks (7–3)
Seattle fell just short in a 21–19 loss to the Rams. The defense kept them close, and Jason Myers hit four field goals, but turnovers and red-zone struggles held them back. Even with the loss, the Seahawks remain near the top of the NFC standings.
6. Buffalo Bills (7–3)
Buffalo bounced back with a huge 44–32 win over Tampa Bay. Josh Allen exploded for six total touchdowns, spreading the ball around and running through defenders. The Bills looked like the contenders everyone expected early in the season.
5. New England Patriots (9–2)
The Patriots rolled past the Jets 27–14 behind rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson, who scored three total touchdowns. Drake Maye was efficient and spread the ball around, while the defense shut down New York after the opening drive. New England looks sharp on both sides of the ball.
4. Denver Broncos (9–2)
Denver stayed hot with a dramatic 22–19 win over Kansas City. Bo Nix continued to play beyond his years, connecting with Troy Franklin and Courtland Sutton for big gains. A last-second field goal sealed their eighth straight victory as Denver continues its incredible rise.
3. Los Angeles Rams (8–2)
The Rams held off Seattle 21–19 in a tight game. Kyren Williams ran strong, Davante Adams scored, and Matthew Stafford stayed calm under pressure. The defense made key stops late, and Los Angeles continues to look like a top NFC contender.
2. Indianapolis Colts (8–2)
The Colts remain one of the league’s most complete teams thanks to their defense and balanced offense. They had a bye week but continue to win close, physical games and keep pace at the top of the AFC standings, showing they can match up with anyone.
1. Philadelphia Eagles (8–2)
The Eagles beat Detroit 16–9 behind a dominant defensive performance and a steady offense led by Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley. Jake Elliott hit clutch kicks all game, and Philadelphia continues to look like the NFL’s toughest, most reliable team.
With Week 12 in the books, every team in the top tier is fighting for playoff position and home-field advantage. As the season tightens, one big win, or one bad slip, could shake up everything in the weeks ahead.
