NFL Power Rankings: Teams 16–1
The top half of the NFL rankings is full of strong teams and rising stars. From unbeaten squads to tough contenders, these are the teams leading the way as the season continues.
16. Colts (3-0)
Indianapolis dominated Tennessee 41–20. Daniel Jones is playing the best football of his career, and Jonathan Taylor looks like a star again. The Colts are unbeaten and proving they can score in different ways. They are the biggest surprise of the season so far.
15. Broncos (1-2)
Denver lost a close game 23–20 to the Chargers. Second year quarterback Bo Nix and running back J.K. Dobbins are growing together, but the defense couldn’t hold the lead. The Broncos are showing fight but still need to close games.
14. Steelers (2-1)
Pittsburgh beat New England 21–14 with help from Aaron Rodgers. He threw two touchdowns, including a clutch game-winner to Calvin Austin III. With Rodgers and DK Metcalf, the Steelers’ offense is starting to click.
13. Seahawks (2-1)
Seattle crushed New Orleans 44–13. Kenneth Walker ran all over the Saints, and the defense kept them in control. While the Saints aren't a difficult opponent the Seahawks' strong play continues, they could be dangerous in the NFC.
12. Vikings (2-1)
Minnesota destroyed Cincinnati 48–10 behind backup quarterback Carson Wentz. Jordan Mason powered the run game, while Justin Jefferson made his usual big plays. The Vikings looked like a true contender on both sides of the ball.
11. Packers (2-1)
Green Bay lost 13–10 to Cleveland in a tough defensive battle. Jordan Love moved the ball well at times, and Josh Jacobs stayed steady in the run game. The Packers are still a solid, complete team despite the loss but are definitely upset about this one.
10. Rams (2-1)
Los Angeles pushed the Eagles but fell 33–26. Matthew Stafford has formed a dangerous trio with Davante Adams and Puka Nacua. Even in defeat, the Rams look like one of the NFC’s best offenses. The Eagles are a tough opponent and you can't win them all!
9. Chiefs (1-2)
Kansas City finally looked like themselves in a 22–9 win over the Giants. Patrick Mahomes played sharp, and the defense was dominant. If this version of the Chiefs sticks around, they’ll rise quickly, especially once Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy return.
8. Chargers (3-0)
Los Angeles stayed unbeaten with a 23–20 win over Denver. Justin Herbert looks calm and steady, and rookie running back Omarion Hampton finally broke out. The Chargers are throwing the ball a lot more than expected and playing smart football.
7. Commanders (2-1)
Washington bounced back in a big way, beating the Raiders 41–24. Backup quarterback Marcus Mariota made big plays, and Deebo Samuel added explosive energy. The Commanders look like a dangerous NFC team when their offense is rolling.
6. Ravens (1-2)
Baltimore lost a shootout to the Lions but still looked explosive. Lamar Jackson is making plays everywhere, both passing and running. The record isn’t pretty, but their early season schedule has been tough and the Ravens are still one of the most dangerous teams.
5. Buccaneers (3-0)
Tampa Bay pulled out another close win, edging the Jets 29–27. Baker Mayfield continues to lead clutch drives, and rookie Emeka Egbuka has been a breakout star. The Bucs are likely going to be without Chris Godwin and Mike Evans for a few weeks but they are unbeaten and full of confidence.
4. Lions (2-1)
Detroit earned a huge 38–30 win over Baltimore. Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Amon-Ra St. Bron give them an explosive combination of offensive players.. The Lions proved they can hang with the AFC’s best and have the best offense in the league..
3. 49ers (3-0)
San Francisco squeezed out a 16–15 win over Arizona. They’re still perfect, but losing Nick Bosa to a torn ACL injury is a major blow, especially with Brock Purdy, George Kittle and Brandon Aiyuk out with injury. The 49ers need their defense to stay strong and their stars to get healthy.
2. Bills (3-0)
Buffalo looks like the most complete team in the AFC. Josh Allen is making big plays, and the defense has been dominant against both the run and pass. At 3-0, the Bills are rolling and if they had defeated a stronger opponent last week they would likely be first on this list.
1. Eagles (3-0)
Philadelphia stayed undefeated with a 33–26 win over the high-powered Rams. Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and the defense all contributed big plays. The Eagles remain the gold standard in the NFC until someone knocks them off.
Looking Ahead
These top teams are setting the pace for the rest of the league. With big stars and strong defenses, they’ll be tough to beat in the weeks ahead. Every game matters now, and the battle for the top spot is just getting started.
